Well, its noon here in south Calgary, and that means that Throw down is officially CLOSED!
Thank you to everyone who entered, we got 19 entries! Now the fun truly begins! Me, along with my posse, picked out a final 4 who will be competing for the totally awesome prize. It's up to you blog world to pick the fifth and final wild card contestant.
I think I've kept you waiting long enough. The final four (in no particular order) are:
Molly's Twice baked potatoes
Auntie Jess' Cheese pimples
Miss. Leah's Bacon cheese spread
Granny's Tyropita - Greek feta cheese pie
Mmm... I'm hungry!
Now, if you please look to my side bar for a moment, you will notice a poll. Please take a couple seconds to vote for your favourite recipe(s). The recipe with the most votes will get the last spot in the finals! (You can vote for more than one recipe) Poll closes at 7pm Friday.
Congratulations finalists, good luck other contestants and happy voting to all :)

Looks like lots of cheesy goodness! I'm coming to your house for supper!
ReplyDeleteLet me just say that I am thrilled to be in the elimination round of this prestigious competition... I think Gramps' recipe should really have a more colorful name. I don't think he has much of a chance with a late entry and a name like "pasta sauce"... It's certainly not as catchy as "cheeze pimples"..If he had named it something like "Alfredo Neptune"....I might have cast my vote for it in the wild card poll.....because it is quite good....even when he makes it with 8 ounces of fresh garlic...
ReplyDeleteYes - if i would have thought - i'd have renamed my entry too! It's lookin' like that peanut butter cheese ball is gonna be making an appearance in the finals unless there's a big upset... Cai says if i get eliminated, i get to help judge, so i'm being a good sport.

ReplyDeleteI know it would be a lot of work to type in all the recipes with their ingredients and how to make them -- but from your poll they all sound good.... It would be nice to know how to make some of the others if you are bored and want to post them for your reading public....
And I hope you post photos of the dishes that you make for this competition. This is a fun one!
