(Please check out Micah Bournes! He spoke at Tehillah last night and he is incredible! And yes, this does have relevance to the post.)

"I don't have a name."
Immediately, my mind went back to a dream I had last week:
I got tricked into driving someone to an abortion clinic to have an abortion.
While there, I somehow ended up "working" there. A lady holding a clipboard thrust it to me saying, "Please continue."
I looked down at the line of people. Single women, couples, and some men alone. I assume they had wives or girlfriends somewhere, cause why else would they be in a line up to have an abortion?
I looked at the paper. It had two blanks I had to fill in. "Name" and "Reason for abortion".
As I went down the line, each person gave me the necessary information. The reasons varied.
"My baby has an incomplete brain."
"I'm 14 and my parents think I'm a virgin."
"I already have 4 I can't take care of."
"My baby has a genetic disorder."
I came to one man standing by himself.
"Name?"
"Reason for abortion?"
And this is the line that stands out:
"We're getting an abortion for a lack of three things: A lack of money. A lack of rescuers. A lack of a name."
The lack of a name?
My mom texted me hours later... "You know the song "Hello, my name is..." by Matthew West? Maybe it wasn't a name name... Maybe it was that kind of name."
I never thought of that.
Nameless people.
Nameless people who have names, but don't know what their real ones are. My mind filled with names:
Loved.
Significant.
Important.
Child.
Son.
Daughter.
Forgiven.
Redeemed.
Free.
How many people do we pass on the streets who are nameless?
Sure, if you asked them their name they could tell you.
But they don't know their value. Their real names.
I've heard this song a million times and it's maybe sliiiiightly overplayed on the christian radio station,
but it emphasizes my point. :)
