I like reading. Novels are good, but I prefer facts over fiction. I like biographies, science fiction, historical fiction... But I'm getting off topic.
I like novels. But I don't like novel studies. I'm supposed to be doing a novel study on the classic story, 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen. It's not a bad book, but knowing that I have to answer lame questions about each chapter after I read it makes the whole thing seem rather unappealing.
I want to want to do it, but I don't want to.
So what do I do?
When I do do it, I get bored, and tend to start to skim over the uneventfull parts. Then when I go to do the 'study' part, I find that I have to go back and reread the painfully boring section. Only to find that that's not the part they were talking about and the section that I had read had no significance at all to the story line. Just kidding. That never happened.
You don't get this post do you?
I guess the whole point was just to complain to the only person that would listen how boring novel studies can be.

Poem
Our facilitator for school is coming next week, and I have to do a writing sample. I decided to a poem. My mom sugested I do a rondeau. So I did. Then I noticed that this weeks challenge is to do a poem about snow. So I did that too. So, here it is. My Rondeau about snow.
**Graceful snowflakes**
Cairo Beselt Grade 8
Graceful snow flakes glisten in the light
like tiny butterflies taking flight
Falling in the crisp winter cold,
It shines like small specks of gold
collecting on the ground, piles of white
*
The snow makes quite a sight
as its banks grow tall in height
changing shape like a story being told
Graceful snowflakes
*
Snow flakes falling in the night,
the wind blows them left and right,
the white against the night looks bold
creating the sights that morning will hold,
sparkling patternes and mountains of white
Graceful snow flakes.

Haa-nee?
Me and Gage like having sleepovers. They used to all be in my bed, but he just got a new bed, so now we sometimes sleep in his bed.
At our last sleepover in my room, he was chatting and making allot of noise. Mollen, sleeping at the bottom of the bed started to stir.
"Shhh, Honey. Molly (Nobody EVER calls her molly, but Gage does, for some reason. It sounds more like Moyee though) is sleeping, so we have to be quiet."
He looks confused.
"HAA-nee?"
"Yes, I called you honey. Is that silly?"
"Hehe, yeah. Meee ha-nee?"
"Yup. Your honey."
"YOU ha-nee? hehe. MEE ha-nee! Yay!" (Claps hands)

Pause! Play. PAUSE!
Do you ever feel like your life is like a movie, and you keep pausing it to do other things?
This week it feels like we are pressing 'play' again after the holidays. Back to violin, babysitting, fiddle, homeschool.
No more new years parties, christmas candies or cousins.
This weekend, my Dads cousin is going to BC for her moms birthday, and taking me and Sloan with her so we can spend the weekend at Gam and Gamps. Then we will have to get back to life again when we get back.
Then after only a couple weeks (Like, 3!!!) of normal life, we will again take a break and put our normal life hold and welcome a new baby into the family.
I guess normal life is stopping and starting our normal routines...

THIS MONTH
THE BABY IS DUE THIS MONTH! I can't wait. Aren't babies the cutest? I remember when Gage was first born, if he fell asleep on you, nobody was allowed to hold him until he woke up, so I would always try to steal him when he looked tired, then I could hold him for his whole nap :)
Gage was born on a Wednesday, so we had AWANA that night, and we went! It was good and bad, we had to leave him for an hour and a half, but, he had only been born for 9 hours, so we got to tell all our friends!
The other day we went and got out all the new born sleepers. There is this one brown and white one that Gage wore home from the hospital, SO TINY! I remember this one shirt that Gage grew into, and when we put it one him, saying, 'AAAAWW! He is so big!' When I see it now, it looks so little! The arms on it are the same length as my foot!
I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MY NEW SIBLING!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!
Who managed to stay up till midnight? I did. But by force! At 11 I wanted to go to slep, but the girs told me that if we came this far, we had to make it. So I did.
At 11:58, we were all in bed, watching the clock so that as soon as it was midnight, we could go to bed. Want to know how fast I fell asleep after that? I woke up at 12:14 because I had a nightmare. LOL
Not sure if I'm up to trying this again next year...

So, me, mom, Sloan and Gage are watching T.V. up in moms room.
Me: hey, Mom...
Gagey: RORO! SHUSH! I'M TRYING TO (s)LEEP!!"
(Throws himself on the pillow and closes his eyes... 10 seconds later, opens one eye to peek at me)
Gagey: ~Giggles~ A Gagey not go leep... Gagey play MONDERS! (Mosters) RAAAAAAWR!!
Me: Gagey! Be quiet! I'm trying to sleep!
Gagey: No you not... You bad guy and I GET YOU! AAAHHH!
So much for trying to sleep...
