THIS MONTH

THE BABY IS DUE THIS MONTH! I can't wait. Aren't babies the cutest? I remember when Gage was first born, if he fell asleep on you, nobody was allowed to hold him until he woke up, so I would always try to steal him when he looked tired, then I could hold him for his whole nap :)
Gage was born on a Wednesday, so we had AWANA that night, and we went! It was good and bad, we had to leave him for an hour and a half, but, he had only been born for 9 hours, so we got to tell all our friends!
The other day we went and got out all the new born sleepers. There is this one brown and white one that Gage wore home from the hospital, SO TINY! I remember this one shirt that Gage grew into, and when we put it one him, saying, 'AAAAWW! He is so big!' When I see it now, it looks so little! The arms on it are the same length as my foot!
I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MY NEW SIBLING!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Who managed to stay up till midnight? I did. But by force! At 11 I wanted to go to slep, but the girs told me that if we came this far, we had to make it. So I did.
At 11:58, we were all in bed, watching the clock so that as soon as it was midnight, we could go to bed. Want to know how fast I fell asleep after that? I woke up at 12:14 because I had a nightmare. LOL
Not sure if I'm up to trying this again next year...
So, me, mom, Sloan and Gage are watching T.V. up in moms room.
Me: hey, Mom...
Gagey: RORO! SHUSH! I'M TRYING TO (s)LEEP!!"
(Throws himself on the pillow and closes his eyes... 10 seconds later, opens one eye to peek at me)
Gagey: ~Giggles~ A Gagey not go leep... Gagey play MONDERS! (Mosters) RAAAAAAWR!!

Me: Gagey! Be quiet! I'm trying to sleep!

Gagey: No you not... You bad guy and I GET YOU! AAAHHH!

So much for trying to sleep...

Coyotes

Some people didn't belive us when we told them about our christmas playmates.
"So, what did you do over the holidays?"
"I hung out with coyotes!"
"Yeah, right!"
"No, I'm not kidding."
"Stuffed ones!"
"No, real. Alive."
"They were probably really far away though, and you just heard them howling."
"No, they came really close to us. I almost hit one on my sled! But they were howling..."

Christmas

I am home from auntie Jessie's! We had the AWESOME-EST time! When we first got there, we ate lunch, then headed out sledding. There are two coyotes that live close to the Jespersen's house. They like to come and play with us when we are sledding. I know, it sounds dangerous, playing with wild animals, but they are just like puppies. They come and prance around us, but won't get too close because they are scared of us. We were screaming when we were going down the sledding hill, and the coyote would howl back at us. It was awesome. Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me.
After sledding we went in the hot tub. Then we had supper, and had our gift exchange. At the end of the exchange I had a little polka dotted makeup bag and two little glass jars. Then me and Haven arranged a cookie/chocolate platter, and we all stuffed our selves.
Some time we also managed to fit in watching home videos from when mom was a baby, a Christmas play, and a whole lot of fiddle.
That was Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day, we woke up to find that Granny had taken one of each of our boots and filled it with little gifts. I got a 'Sadie book' (We all wrote stories about Sadie then granny made them into a book and all the authors got a copy) And a jar of natural deodorant that auntie Jess got me, a little flashlight and a little, tiny container that you clip onto your zipper. (I mean it when I say tiny. You could maybe, maybe fit two tictacs in it. )
Then we had a breakfast of potato's, eggs and breakfast casserole. After breakfast we, you guessed it, went sledding and hot tubbing, then more sledding. We didn't see much of the coyotes today, which was a bummer because I brought my camera both times...
Gramps read the Christmas story to us, and we ate turkey, and tweeties, and lots of good food - like nachos and grampsies chili on rice. mmmmmmm.
We also had a visit from Santa clause. Since when does Santa carry a hunting riffle with him?!
On boxing day, we went sledding, packed up our stuff, said good bye to the Fehlers, had a lunch of Shepperd's pie and a special bread that auntie steph made (Before she left). And came home.
Luckily, I didn't leave disappointed because the coyote came back and put on a show when we were sledding. And I had my camera :)

I'll just throw in some ballet...

So, yesterday I had my big christmas jam... Y'know, we all go around the circle, name a song, and play it...
Close to the end, someone suggested I Saw Three Ships. If you were at Fiddle Fantasia you would remember the Irish dancing during that song? None of the Irish dancers were there.
All of a sudden, I look up, and Mollen is standing in front of EVERYBODY (There were probable 40 or so fiddlers pluss all the parents) trying to do an Irish Jig!
At first it was ok... I kept playing... But as her dance became more intence, and more un-Irish, I found myself not playing anymore, and laughing so hard that I had tears steaming down my face... I do have a tendancy to start sobbing uncontrollably when I laugh. When the song was over, and everyone else joined me in not playing, my friend turns to me, 'Does your sister do irish dancing?'
'NO! That's what makes it so funny!'
Mollen walks back to my mom, "I love my moves... If they do a slow song, I'll just throw in some ballet..."
No. She doesn't do ballet either...

Does any one else smell... Smoke?

Charter had been working on his copy work all day. He was almost done. He had an hour to finish. I was making cookies, so his time was going by in 10 minute chunks.
While the last pan of cookies was in the oven, Charter looks up from his work and thinks, "There is no way I can finish my work in only 5 minutes."
So, thinking he is quite clever, he sneeks over and adds 5 minutes to the timer. There, now he has 10 minutes to finish. He can do that.
The minutes drag by, and he looks up and again, thinks, "How in the world can I finish in only 3 minutes." So he sneaks over and adds another 10 minutes.
Again. "How can I finish? I need more than 1 minute!" He sneaks over, but I hear him this time.
"Charter! What are you doing? Are you adding more time so that you can finish before the timer is up? You can't add time to the timer! There are COOKIES in there!"
His face turnes white. He gasps.
"How much time did you add?"
"There was one minute on the timer when I came over here."
I turn the timer from 11 minutes back down to 1.
"But they would have been done my now."
Oh, really? You mean like 20 minutes ago?
As I open up the oven door, smoke billows out. I slowly remove a cookie sheet. Fanning the smoke away reveals a thin black sheet of what 20 minutes ago would have been quite yummy cookies.
He looks like he might be sorry.
"How many times did you add time?!"
"Umm, a couple?"
Yeah. I thought so...
